Getting started with TM Manager

Add your trademarks and oppositions, group them by client and tag, and let TM Manager keep them up to date with the Indian Trade Marks Registry.

TM Manager is trademark portfolio management for India. It keeps all your trademarks and oppositions in one place and follows them on the Trade Marks Registry (IP India) for you, so you see status changes, new documents, hearings and deadlines without checking each mark by hand.

It works for law firms and IP attorneys managing marks for many clients, and for businesses looking after their own brands.

Find your way around

The sidebar has four parts:

PartWhat you'll find
WorkspaceDashboard, My Portfolio (your marks and oppositions), Clients Manager, and the AI Assistant
Monitoring & WatchTasks (what to do and by when), All Updates (what changed), Journal Watch (similar marks in the journal) and Citations
RegistryTM Search to search all Indian trademarks, TM Status for any application, and the Explorer for trademarks, oppositions and journals
IntegrationsMCA Search for company names

At the bottom of the sidebar you can type any application number for a quick status check. Your credits and portfolio size are under your account menu → Usage Stats.

Step 1: Add your trademarks

  1. Open My Portfolio → Add to portfolio.
  2. Choose what you're adding:
    • My Applications: trademarks you own, or manage for clients.
    • Outbound Oppositions: oppositions you have filed against other marks.
  3. Paste the application or opposition numbers. You can copy them straight from Excel or a CSV, separate them with commas, or put one per line. TM Manager shows how many numbers it found and points out any that don't look right.
  4. Select Add.

TM Manager then pulls each mark from the Registry: its status, owner, goods and services, documents, oppositions and hearings. After that it keeps them up to date on its own.

Your plan sets how many marks your portfolio can hold. Usage Stats shows how many you've used.

Step 2: Group by client and tag

  • Clients: add the clients you act for in Clients Manager. Then set a mark's client from the Client column in My Portfolio. You can filter your portfolio and All Updates by client. Handy for firms; businesses can use it for group companies or brands.
  • Tags: your own labels, such as a product line, a matter type or a team. Add them from the Tags column, then filter My Portfolio, Tasks and Journal Watch by tag.

An empty Client or Tags cell shows "—". Point at the row to pick one.
