Tasks and trademark deadlines

TM Manager turns what the Registry sends into tasks with due dates: examination report replies, hearings, counter statements, evidence affidavits and renewals. See what's due, what's overdue, and mark it done.

Every trademark has deadlines: a reply to an examination report, a hearing date, a counter statement in an opposition, a renewal. Miss one and the mark can be lost. Tasks (under Monitoring & Watch) keeps track of them for you.

You don't have to enter them. When the Registry issues a document or schedules a hearing for a mark in your portfolio, TM Manager creates the task and works out its due date.

When the reply or filing shows up on the Registry, TM Manager marks the task Completed for you.

See what's due

  • Priority deadlines shows the tasks due yesterday, today and the next two days, and how many late examination reports are waiting for you.
  • Switch between Table and Calendar to see tasks as a list or by date.
  • Filter by task type, status, tag and date range.

Each task has a status: Pending, In Progress, Completed or Closed. Change it as you work, and add Notes for your team.

Open a task to see the mark, the document it came from and, for a hearing, the hearing slot and link. Ask AI about this task asks the AI Assistant to explain it and suggest next steps.

Late examination reports

Sometimes the Registry dates an examination report but puts it on the e-register weeks later. By the time you see it, the one-month reply period may be nearly over, or already passed.

When a report is listed more than 7 days after its date, TM Manager flags it under Late examination reports. For each one it shows:

  • the date on the report;
  • the date the Registry listed it;
  • the due date counted from each.

You choose which due date the task should use. Nothing changes until you do: the task keeps the date counted from the report's date. You can change it later from the task.
